Canadian Customs

I am interested in ordering some hentai dvds and manga from AN but I've heard that Canadian customs might seize my stuff, Is this a bigger problem than I'd expect or is it minuscule? Because if it is a big problem I don't want to risk spending good money just to have my stuff stolen by Canadian customs and I say "stolen" because that is essentially what they do.

That really depends on the titles. There is a list that has been banned under the pretext of being obscene. As far as I know, the titles typically feature loli or bestiality.

Still, I personally wouldn't bother with ordering the stuff.

I still want to but not the loli stuff if said loli titles exist on AN which I think they don't.

If it makes it into the US, it probably won't have problems making it into Canada.

This isn't true. If it was published by Eros or Last Gasp it's more than likely going to be confiscated at the border. And there's a bunch of DVD's on the list too like Bible Black Origins, Night Shift Nurses, and Princess 69

It's hit or miss with customs. On the titles we know are banned, we do put a disclaimer on the item page for Canadian customers. Mainly, if it contains depictions of rape or sexual violence, it's subject to seizure. That said, we actually have very few problems.

Edit: After mentioning this and refreshing my memory, our note was mostly on import hentai manga. Seizures by customs seem to be pretty arbitrary, and the list of banned items isn't consistent, so unfortunately, there's no any set advice or guidelines we can offer...

Are you able to pay for insurance just incase a purchase does get seized depending on how much it is?

Unfortunately, no. It's not something we offer, and I assume normal postal insurance doesn't cover items legally seized by customs.

It's funny how they can call that legal considering most of the stuff that gets seized.

Move to America. Seriously, banning stuff cause it is too sexual, is completely fiction, and DRAWN. it isn't even real.

I sure as hell hope not, Though I still don't want to move to America for a number of reasons which I won't go into , Although this has to do solely with Canadian customs. I know this because I've ordered hentai through a local business and they said it comes from a warehouse nearby and I have over 26 hentai titles including Bible Black: Origins which is banned by Canadian customs and yet I was able to obtain it through a legal purchase.

Our customs aren't that bad. Is regular internet porn seriously not good enough for anyone anymore?
