looking for title of elusive anime film, have you seen it?

Hi, I am looking for anyone that might have seen an anime film i started watching years ago, but could not stay to finish.
I've been wanting to see it since and can't find the name.
It's about a man who was destined to either be like a christ of antichrist, depending on his upbringing. he grows up to be be a kind man and some sort of spiritual teacher.
One day a traitor decapitates 2 small orphan children and shows him the heads blaming some group group to make him angry and turn him to the dark side. hope this sound familiar
