FUNimation Acquires Toriko & Wolf Children

FUNimation has announced its acquisition of domestic rights to the ongoing Toriko adventure anime television series and creator/director Mamoru Hosoda’s latest feature film Okami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki.

The Toriko anime based on Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro’s adventure manga revolves around an expert hunter who tracks and kills rare, dangerous animals bare-handed in order to use their meat in gourmet meals. FUNimation’s first bilingual Toriko DVD will be released on January 8, 2013.

Girl Who Leapt Through Time & Summer Wars director Mamoru Hosoda’s “Wolf Children” movie opened in Japanese theaters on July 21. The film is the story of a mother struggling to lovingly raise her two werewolf children. The movie will get a limited American theatrical release next year prior to its home video release.
