7th Animax Award-Winning Script Announced
|The Animax anime exclusive television network, last week, announced the winner of its 7th annual Animax Grand Prize competition for amateur anime screenplay submissions. 24-year-old Kenji Saido’s screenplay titled “Shoka” (Calligrapher) was judged the 2008 competition winner. Production I.G will animated “Shoka” as a TV special for broadcast on the Animax network next year.
Previous winning scripts are:
2002: Super Kuma-san
2003: Azusa, Otetsudai Shimasu!
2004: Hotori ~ Tada Saiwai wo Koinegau
2005: Lily to Kaeru to (Ototo)
2006: Yumedamaya Kidan
2007: Takane no Jitensha
The story quality of these winners has varied from the excellent Super Kuma-san and Hotori to the disappointing Azusa, Otetsudai Shimasu! and Takane no Jitensha.
