Japanese Manga Publisher Biblos Announces Bankruptcy

Biblos, one of Japan’s largest publishers of boy’s love & yaoi manga announced yesterday that the company has filed for bankruptcy and has ceased all publishing activity. Biblos was the publisher of the Be-Boy line of magazines, and popular manga such as Kizuna, FAKE and Golden Cain. American publishers Central Park Media, Kitty Media, and Digital Manga do not expect the bankruptcy to impact their American releases.

The Biblos bankruptcy is rumored to be a result of personal financial troubles of Biblos’ chief executive.
