Gainax Announces New Anime

Gainax has formally announced its new sci-fi/mecha anime television series, “Maiking Break-Through Gurren-Lagann.” The series, to be produced in cooperation with Aniplex and Konami, will premier next spring.

Game Watch reports that during the series announcement press conference, Aniplex director Koichi Natsume stated that Gurren-Lagann may get multiple sequel series. Konami’s Kudou Youjirou confirmed that Konami will produce a Gurren-Lagann video game. Series screenwriter Nakajima Kazuki revealed that the series will be 26 episodes.
