Shueisha Invests in ShoPro

The interconnection of Japanese publishers Shogakukan and Shueisha continues as Shueisha has formally invested in Shogakukan’s 41 year old licensing and merchandising division ShoPro. As a result of the partnership, ShoPro will henceforth be named “Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions.” The expanded interest will allow Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions greater access to Shueisha owned manga and anime properties, generating more flexibility and timeliness in providing international licensing arrangements.

Shueisha became a co-owner of Shogakukan’s American subsidiary, Viz Media, in 2002.
