Many of our faithful patrons will be excited to know that the eagerly awaited Code Geass Illustration Rebels art collection book has arrived. And it was certainly worth the wait. This hefty 144 page book contains 128 pages of stunning cel art illustrations, 8 pages of fascinating rough design sketch comparisons to the finished artworks, and an illustrated index.
The Paint Jump Art of Bleach book is a neat 58 page “coloring book” that includes color illustrations and 40 pages of monochrome line art full page illustrations and postcards designed for fans to color then display or even mail to friends. Here’s a tip. You could photocopy the pages then color each illustration multiple times!
The Gurren Lagann Final Drill reference guide is a thick – over 350 pages – A5 size book that literally covers everything you could want to know about Gurren Lagann, with hundreds of color illustrations, screen shots, and monochrome art. A color reflective foil dust jacket really makes this book stand out!
One of the copies of the Idolmaster Xenoglossia Sweet Memories book should be for me! This glossy artbook includes a 44 page gallery of illustrations – that’s nearly half the content of the whole book! – episode guides for the whole TV series, and the typical assortment of color and monochrome character and mecha profiles, production art, staff and cast interviews, and so forth.
The “Zero ~ Zero no Tsukaima Illustration Collection” is a really weighty 148 page art collection full of really gorgeous color and monochrome painted illustrations from the novels. It’s cute, sexy, and really, really attractive art!
The Romeo x Juliet Visual Fanbook finally arrived. It’s a really gorgeous illustration/anime guide with 96 of the book’s 112 pages in glossy color. This is the sort of book that import artbook collectors wish all anime series books were like!
The mecha fans should go nuts over two new arrivals. The hefty Kimitoshi Yamane Mecha Zukan book is a mostly monochrome collection of design art of robots, spaceships, weapons, and other mecha from shows including Ryvius, Cowboy Bebop, Gundam, Tideline Blue, Argent Soma, and a bunch of other shows. I really can’t describe how amazing and impressive the detail of this mechanical design is.
And the “Hagane Bito” illustration collection is a dream come true for fans of mecha illustrations. This gorgeous full color 130 page art collection archives paintings by Naochika Morishita from Gundam, Votoms, Dougram, Ideon, Macross, Eva, Layzner, Vifam, SRW, Mospeada, and even a bit of sentai hero. These are the sort of action filled illustrations that grace posters and model kit covers. Brilliant stuff.
