New Hajime no Ippo TV Anime Planned
Reportedly, the 42nd issue of Shukan Shonen Magazine, scheduled for release in October, will include an announcement that a new Hajime no Ippo anime series will premier in January. The anime adaptation of George Morikawa’s popular boxing manga began in 2000, with the latest anime adaptation released in 2003. The first television series and TV special were released on American DVD by Geneon under the title “Fighting Spirit.”

Ippo stands confidently in my top 10 next to the likes of Slam Dunk, and hearing that there’s another series planned makes me happier than I can really explain and still sound reasonable.
Awesome, can’t wait! I doubt it will get licensed over here, especially since Geneon is long gone, but something is better than nothing (even if I do have to download it illegally).
