Keanu Talks Cowboy Bebop

In an interview with MTV, actor Keanu Reeves revealed that Twentieth Century Fox now has a screenwriter developing a plot for an American produced live action feature film based on the 1998 anime television series Cowboy Bebop. Reeves explains that the intent of the American film is to adapt the original TV series’ “Red Eye” storyline and the TV series climax, with other “highlights” from the TV series filling out the body of the film. It should be emphasized that Reeves did not mention any plans to appear in the film himself; however, Reeves is obviously excited about the project; he does bear a resemblance to Cowboy Bebop protagonist Spike Speigel; and the film is being produced by Reeves’ manager Erwin Stoff.
