54th Shogakukan Manga Award Winners Announced
|The winners of the 54th annual Shogakukan Manga Award were announced yesterday. The winners will be presented with a bronze statuette and a 1 million yen prize at a formal ceremony on March 3. The annual award is open to manga from all publishers, and titles from publishers besides Shogakukan have previously won the award. This year’s winners, though, are all Shogakukan publications.
Yu Yabuuchi’s Naisho no Tsubomi won the award for best children’s manga.
Mitsuru Adachi’s Cross Game has been recognized as best manga for boys.
Kanoko Sakurakoji’s Black Bird won the award for best girls’ manga.
Shinichi Ishizuka’s Gaku – Minna no Yama was recognized as the best manga for general readers.
