New Tezuka Anime Announced

The NHK television network has announced its April television premieres, which include a program titled Shuukan Tezuka Osamu (“Weekly Tezuka Osamu”). The program will broadcast new adaptations of 19 works from the late “god of manga” ranging from Tezuka’s earliest creations to works published posthumously. Despite the implication of the program’s name, the show will air three times a month beginning April 10th.

Osamu Tezuka is the well known creator of landmark manga titles including Astro Boy, Jungle Emperor, Princess Knight, Black Jack, and Phoenix.
