Sentai Acquires New Titles
|ADV Films affiliate licensor Sentai Filmworks has announced its acquisition of distribution rights to the Clannad After Story, He is My Master (Kore wa Watashi no Goshujin-sama), Ghost Hound (Shinrei Gari ~ Ghost Hound), Little Snow Fairy Sugar (Chicchana Yukitsukai Sugar), and Popotan anime TV series. All five titles will hit American DVD in October along with the live action Zombie Self-Defense Force and Fistful of Fuku, under the Switchblade Films label.
The 25 episode Clannad After Story, a 2008 sequel to the 2007 Clannad TV anime, will be released in two subtitled half-series DVD collections. The first will go on sale October 20th and retail at $39.98.
The 2005 He is My Master television anime is Gainax’s 12 episode adaptation of Mattsuu & Asu Tsubaki’s harem comedy. The entire series will be released in a single subtitled DVD collection on October 20th retailing at $39.98.
Ghost Hound is the 2007 first of two anime TV series co-created by Production I.G and manga artist Masamune Shirow. (The second co-creation is 2008’s RD Senno Chosashitsu.) The 25 episode supernatural mystery/horror series will be released in two subtitled DVD collections. The first will go on sale October 20th and retail at $59.98.
Little Snow Fairy Sugar, previously distributed domestically by Geneon, will be released in two bilingual sets. The first will be available October 27th at a $39.98 retail.
Popotan, also formerly a Geneon release, will be re-released in a complete bilingual collection retailing at $29.98 on October 27th.
Zombie Self-Defense Force will be subtitled only and retail at $14.98 beginning October 13.
Fistful of Fuku will go on sale October 20th at an $24.98 SRP. Initial reports describe it as subtitled only, however AD Vision has produced an English dub for the comedy film.
