WB Anime Censoring Update

The “lost episode” of Pokemon, “Beauty and the Beach” was shown on WB. Despite many bikini scenes, the domestic version did not include Team Rocket member James wearing one. The very amusing scene were he and Jesse enter a bikini contest, which many believed was the reason the episode was originally not shown, was completely edited out of the episode. The edit was done well, and if one did not know the scene was in the episode, one would probably be hard pressed to notice that something was missing.

The second episode of Card Captors was changed from “Double Edge Sword” (originally “Sakura and the Mysterious Broach,” Japanese episode 8) to “Time and Again” (originally “Sakura’s One Endless Day,” Japanese episode 12). The fact that the Nelvana site cannot keep up with which episode is being shown seems to indicate that the domestic episode order is far from cemented.
