every finger crossed for a non-upscaled blu-ray
Now all they need to do is commission the long-awaited cross-over short where Utena challenges Turbo Teen to a race.
They really could have just let this one go. This movie is part of the reason that people don’t want to watch the original television series. The excellent animation draws people in, but the actual movie is a mess made up of cameos and confusion.
I only own the movie because it was included in Software Sculptors 1st box set from the series, which makes things worse for many viewers because most of the references/revelations don’t come until the end of the series. The movie has spoilers that only make sense in the context of the series.
At least the movie made for easy AMVs.
kampfer: I gotta disagree. If it weren’t for the movie, I would’ve just considered the show another cash-in of the 90s shojo boom. Anyway, if the movie’s good enough for Nolan[ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ-LQADO6xY&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXvBJ-pskeI ], it’s good enough for everyone else. Anyway, yeah, there are spoilers, but you can watch the movie separately, since, in some ways, it can be considered a reboot.
