Panty & Stocking Trailer Released
Kadokawa Shoten has released a 90 second trailer for Gainax’s upcoming “Powerpuff Girls with sex” original anime television series Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. The series will premiere on October 1.

I’m so down. It’s crazy and unique in comparison to other anime out presently.
Let me see if I got the concept: “Panty” can turn her underwar in guns, and “Stocking” can transform her stocking in swords?
Meh, looks like one of those “anime-inspired” American cartoon knock-offs you get on Network tv as filler. That, and/or something Spike and Mike would put into its line-up when there’s nothing better for people to watch that year.
I dunno, it looks like classic Hiroyuki Imaishi to me. Before his name got overly associated with Gurren-Lagann, the other things he’s worked on (Dead Leaves, FLCL episode 5, Trava, and Re: Cutie Honey ep1) will probably serve as a close reference point to the kind of high-energy bonkers fun this looks to be.

The thing is, it’s not anime inspired. Not that anime inspired= bad to me, either. It’s Japanese anime, and I like that it’s not just spewing the exact same anime tropes.
