Kotobukiya Distribution in US

Diamond Comic Distributors has now taken over the exclusive distribution of all Kotobukiya products in North America. All items previously solicited by Palisades will now be delivered by Diamond. The separation has been described as mutual and under very friendly circumstances. Included are the upcoming Front Mission 3 series 1 green and blue repaint figures scheduled to ship in February and the brand new I.N wanzer and Reika type wanzer figures due out next month, the Final Fantasy VIII series 3 figures, including the massive Omega Weapon, Iron Giant, Forbidden, and Odin without his horse Sleipnir, and the high quality polystone resin Chrono Cross statues of Kidd, Lynx, and Serge shipping in January 2001.

Upcoming Kotobukiya projects include resin statues based on the Duplex Divine anime series, regarding which Kotobukiya’s director of international operations, Yumi Hoashi, says, “We are working on getting Duplex Divine statues licensed for the US market…I am very optimistic!!” Other current Kotobukiya projects include Armored Core 2 figures (Emrd ECM- XR00, Geo Matrics ZCL-XA/2 & Matrix ZCX-F/ROOK), JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure figures and figures based on Kia Asamiya’s Dark Angel manga.

This arrangement will not affect retailers like AnimeNation that may import Kotobukiya toys from Japan on their own.
