Tezuka Pro to Produce Budori Gusuko Movie
|Total Licensing Magazine reports that Tezuka Productions plans to take over and complete the production of the Life of Guskou Budori anime film that Group TAC announced and began developing in 2008. Group TAC declared bankruptcy and closed in 2010. Reportedly Tezuka Pro has secured interested investors but still requires another 50,000,000 yen (about $650,000 USD) to have enough money to complete the film.
The tentative movie is an adaptation of Kenji Miyazawa’s 1932 novel Gusukobudori no Denki about a young scientist doing early research on the greenhouse effect.

just from that description, it doesn’t sound as interesting as Night on the Galactic Railroad. The ANN article says the production cost estimate is like $4M-$8M, which sounds like its on the expensive side for this kind of pseudo-educational movie? Will there be action setpieces?
“[Group TAC] owed about 650 million yen (about US$7.7 million) to about 167 creditors at the time of its demise”
The character in the picture seems to be the same one from Night of the Galactic Railroad. What is the link if there is any? This could aslo be a good, Ask John question^_~
Same director & animation studio, adapted from the same novelist
This picture is quite scary, especially when you look into the eyes.
