JManga to End Service in May

After launching in August of 2011, the Japanese owned & operated JManga digital distribution service has announced plans to cease operations on May 30. The website operated by the Japanese Digital Comics Association allowed international viewers commercial access to online copies of translated Japanese manga but does not support mobile devices or offer downloads. JManga strictly offers the ability to pay for access to read manga titles on an internet connected computer. Subscribers with unspent “JManga Points” will be issued Amazon.com gift cards for any remaining value.
