Animator Hiroshi Ogawa Dead at 62

62-year-old animation director & character designer Hiroshi Ogawa passed away due to stomach cancer on Wednesday, August 7. Ogawa’s extensive credits included character design for the Gatapishi (1990), Crayon Shin-chan (1992), and Nono-chan (2001) television series, mechanical design for the Macross 7 (1994), Burn-Up Scramble (2004), and Innocent Venus (2006) television series, and animation direction on series including Queen Millennia (1981) and Sasuga no Sarutobi (1982). Ogawa taught animation at Kyoto Seika University since 2006.
