A Look at the Snake Plissken Anime that Never Was

In 2003 Escape From New York & Escape from L.A. producer Debra Hill confirmed that she was working with director John Carpenter & Japanese anime studio Production I.G to develop a “Snake Plissken” anime that would be set after Escape from L.A. A sneak preview of the tentative anime film was reportedly planned to be included on the 2005 special edition DVD re-release of Escape From New York. But no look at the anime production ever appeared until this week when Ain’t It Cool News uncovered a selection of character and setting concept sketches for the unproduced anime.
