Goro Miyazaki to Direct Ronia the Robber’s Daughter TV Series
|Goro Miyazaki (Ged Senki, Kokuriko-Zaka Kara) will direct Sanzoku no Musume Ronia, a 3D CG anime television series adaptation of Swedish author Astrid Lindgren’s 1981 children’s novel Ronja Rövardotter (Ronia the Robber’s Daughter). Studio Ghibli will collaborate with Polygon Pictures on the production of the series. Hiroyuki Kawasaki (Bakuretsu Hunter, Shinrei Tantei Yakumo) will write the adaptation about the young daughter of a bandit who grows up surrounded by forest land. Late author Astrid Lindgren (1907-2002) is best known as the creator of Pippi Longstocking.
This ought to be something to look forward to, as Ghibli rarely disappoints, and Goro Miyazaki’s skill as a director has increased significantly since his 2006 debut work.
