Normally I am not this negative in my comments, but given the mixed record major Japanese studios have had in this endeavor; I wish Pony Canyon the best of luck. They may need it.
That is a very interesting development. I wonder why this decision has been made now. Should have been done before now. It would work best if they do decided to go forward with american distribution to release anime fast like in Japan but not in volumes where they release 2 or 3 episodes per volume. Also keep affordable prices like FUNimation does. If not I fear anime fans may not buy seeing as how they will see the anime as expensive. They’ll need to see how the market works here in North America which is that most anime fans go for complete series of anime releases rather than per volume.
Either way wish everything goes well for Pony Canyon. They will just need to observe the market if they decided to go in with their plans.
