Manga Entertainment News from A-Kon
|Manga is apparently considering a release of the Fist of the North Star TV series in DVD boxed sets. There are still plans to release the Rayearth OAVs on DVD, but there’s no word on when. Manga is hoping to have Giant Robo available on DVD by Christmas and is currently persuing the translation rights to the three Gin-Rei OAVs. The Manga Entertainment DVD release of Blood: The Last Vampire will be mastered from the Japanese “digital master” print currently only available in Japan as part of the limited edition 3 disc Blood DVD boxed set. The American edition of Blood won’t be nearly as premium as the Japanese release, but Manga is, nonetheless, trying to make their American release and packaging for Blood “special.”
Miramax has already licensed the translation and distribution rights to the not yet in production Ghost in the Shell 2 anime film.
