European Mononoke DVD Petition

The American DVD version of Princess Mononoke released by Disney owned Miramax Films was initially scheduled for release in an English dubbed only format. English language subtitles on an unedited Japanese language track were only included in response to overwhelming demand and an internet petition that drew 10,000 signatures. Now the same situation seems to be occuring in Europe. Buena Vista has announced that the impending European DVD version of Princess Mononoke will not include the original Japanese language version. A new internet petition has gone online in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish and Japanese, seeking support to convince Buena Vista to include the original Japanese dialogue and multiple subtitle tracks in multiple languages for the European DVD version of Princess Mononoke. Consumers in Europe that support anime and/or have the slightest interest in purchasing this DVD are urged to support this fan sponsored effort.
