New Details on New Rurouni Kenshin OAV Series

The official Japanese Sony Music Rurouni Kenshin site has posted the first images of the new 2 episode Rurouni Kenshin OAV series, Rurouni Kenshin Meiji Kenkyaku Roman Tan Seiso-Hen Jokan. The series will be a continuation of the first OAV series, using the same artistic style and most of the creative staff of the first OAV series, and will apparently be the final Rurouni Kenshin animation. The first volume is scheduled for release on December 19th, the second episode in February 2002. The soundtrack will be released in January 2002.

Also interesting is the fact that the article mentions that Rurouni Kenshin is now popular in America, as if to suggest that this should encourage Japanese fans to renewed interest in Rurouni Kenshin “because the Americans like it.”
