Bandai to Bring Anime to the Internet

A new press release from Bandai of Japan reveals that Bandai, Bandai Visual, Bandai Networks and Sunrise Studios will be collaborating on a venture titled “Bandai Channel” which will distribute anime over broadband internet connections including home PCs, internet cafes and current video game consoles. Beginning in September Bandai Channel will begin to offer anime selections culled from over 180 different anime series produced by Sunrise Animation and over 370 series to which Bandai owns distribution rights.

There is no word yet on what charges to access this anime will be nor if this online anime will be accessible outside Japan.
