Viz Announces New Manga Releases

Viz Communications, Inc has announced that the Battle Angel Alita: Last Order and Arms manga series will both premier in America in September.

Gunnm (Gun Dream): Last Order is creator Yukito Kishiro’s originally planned ending to the Gunnm manga and begins shortly before the finale of the original 9 volume Gunnm story. Battle Angel Alita: Last Order Part 1, #1 will feature 48 black-and-white pages for $2.95 U.S. ($4.95 CAN).

Arms, written by Nanatsuki Kyouichi with art by Minagawa Ryoji (best known as the artist of Spriggan), has been published in Shonen Sunday Magazine since 1997 and currently has 21 volumes of collected manga. The action/adventure series was turned into a popular 52 episode anime TV series titled Project Arms in early 2001. The story is about 4 teens who discover that one or more of their limbs have been replaced with bio-organic weapons known as “arms.” Project Arms, Part 1 #1 will feature 64 black-and-white pages for only $3.25 U.S. ($5.50 Canada).
