FUNimation Confirms Dragonball Plans
|ICv2 News has published a brief but informative interview with FUNimation president Gen Fukunaga discussing future plans for the Dragonball franchise. The interview announces that the Cartoon Network will re-broadcast the entire Dragonball Z TV series, one new episode a day, from beginning to end beginning next year, in preparation for the Cartoon Network premier of Dragonball GT. The GT series will actually premier on home video next spring, before its American television premier in 2004.
Fukunaga also confirmed that distribution rights to the first two American seasons of Dragonball Z will revert to FUNimation from Pioneer in 2004, at which time the roughly 15 episodes edited out of the American version will be restored for uncensored, bilingual American home video release.
