Cartoon Network Doesn’t Have Stand Alone Complex?

In the latest issue of Newtype USA, Cartoon Network representative Sean Akins confirms that the Cartoon Network does not have American broadcast rights to the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex television series. According to Akins, the Cartoon Network is interested in the title, but “it’s certainly not a done deal.”

This statement oddly contradicts the official confirmation of plans to broadcast the series announced by Cartoon Network representatives during the Cartoon Network panel at last summer’s San Diego Comic Con.
