Clarification on Anime Network Announcement Revealed

Anime Network Director of Programming Chris Nelson has clarified details about the reason behind The Anime Network’s recent plea for support from anime fans. Comcast, the nation’s leading cable TV provider, is apparently considering either supplementing or replacing The Anime Network with Sony’s Animax anime network, which Nelson refers to as a “so-far phantom network” although Animax has been available in Japan for years and is now available in South America, and several parts of Asia. Japan’s Animax Network currently airs a wide variety of current and vintage anime including Aishiteruze Baby, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Monster, Otogizoushi, Dr. Slump, Gankutsuou, and Space Adventure Cobra. The Anime Network is currently America’s only anime exclusive TV network.
