Takeshi Miike’s Masters of Horror Episode Withdrawn from US Broadcast

Reportedly Japanese director Takeshi Miike’s completed episode for the second season of Showtime’s television series Masters of Horror will not be aired because it has been deemed “too graphic.” Ain’t It Cool News praises the move, arguing that not broadcasting the episode at all and releasing it uncut on DVD is preferable to broadcasting a censored cut. Twitch, on the other hand, theorizes that the move is entirely motivated by a desire to create controversy that will generate increased consumer interest in the series’ DVD release.
