AD Vision News from Otakon
|AD Vision revealed at this past weekend’s Otakon convention that they will be co-producing the new Rurouni Kenshin OAV series, therefore they will own the US distribution rights. Apparently the new series is being produced partially in response to the success of the first OAV series’ American release. And the 2 episode length announced by Sony of Japan is apparently not definite yet, and may expand to more than two episodes.
Apparently the three year old Makai Tenshou (known in America as Ninja Resurrection) OAV series will be continued with an upcoming TV series.
ADV Films did not confirm a US license for Noir but did state that the Japanese home video version is not the “final version” of the series. Most likely, a future American release will be the definitive “director’s cut” edition.
AD Vision has started a thread on the Anime on DVD Forum seeking questions from fans to pose to the American voice actor for Jean of Secret of Blue Water. The interview with voice actor Nathan Parsons will be featured as a supplemental feature on one of the upcoming Nadia DVDs.
AD Vision has also revealed that although translation of the Excel Saga TV series is still ongoing, dubbing on the series will begin within the next month.
