A fun, but useless acquisition.
It’s ADV’s strategy.
Circle the vultures around the dead, and pick the bodies once they expire.
^ Funimation did a lot of that last year and it helped them a lot.
There is nothing new here, companies have been rescuing titles for years to increase their catalogue.
Stop pretending like you know secrets of the industry, you’re obviously just some angry otaku without a job because no one wanted to hire you.
I think I know more than a bunch of thieves and leeches hell-bent on destroying the anime I _used to_ be able to like.
I would guess you are one of those, too.
I wouldn’t say useless. The more anime they licence the better. We are all anime fans here and some may like what others may not. It’s all a matter of taste. What you might find useless might be one fans favorite…
Yuki: There are many who would disagree with you, claiming that the main reason the anime industry is floundering is over-licensing.
(Not, of course, realizing that the reason ADV went with their strategy back in the day is because they had an Anime Network to fill…)
starcade: I’m not saying its floundering because of over-licensing, I’m just saying the ‘more the better’ in my opinion. If all they licensed was the popular works I wouldn’t bother buying anime at all. It might not be a good financial move to license some of the older or underground stuff but in the long run I find it good for some of the fans.
