AKB0048 Trailer

The homepage for next month’s AKB0048 sci-fi bishoujo anime television series has added a streaming trailer. The show about a renegade group of idol singers that dare to perform in a bleak future when entertainment has been outlawed is loosely based upon real-life Japanese idol singer group AKB48. Current AKB48 members Sayaka Nakaya, Amina Sato, Sumire Sato, Sawako Hata, Haruka Ishida, Kumi Yagami, Mayu Watanabe, Karen Iwata, and Mao Mita will co-star in the anime alongside veteran voice actresses Kana Ueda, Mamiko Noto, Ryoko Shiraishi, Yukari Tamura, Yui Horie, Akemi Kanda, Miyuki Sawashiro, Ayako Kawasumi, and Mai Nakahara. The anime series from studio Satelight will premiere on April 29.

The visual design looks nice, but otherwise this lengthy trailer is really uninteresting. Hopefully the show will be better.
