Akira Live-Action Adaptation Back on Track

First rumored as a Steven de Souza (writer & director of the Van Damme Street Fighter movie) project in the mid 1990s then shelved, the American live-action adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira manga is apparently back on the Hollywood drawing board. According to Comic Book Resources, Blade director Stephen Norrington is now attached to the Warner Bros.’ project.
