American Release of Kodomo no Jikan Canceled

Seven Seas president Jason Deangelis has informed ICv2 that the planned American publication of Kaworu Watashiya’s romantic comedy manga Kodomo no Jikan has been canceled. Despite the fact that the manga includes no nudity or sex, and it parodies the “Lolicon” theme of romance between an adult male and underage female, online outrage over the mere suggestion of under aged sexuality has apparently caused Seven Seas to cancel its planned English translation.

The manga series currently has three volumes in Japan, and an anime television series adaptation of the manga is scheduled to premier in July.
