Anpanman Anime Confirmed to Continue After Creator’s Death

Anime studio TMS and broadcastor NTV have announced that the Soreike! Anpanman anime franchise will continue despite series creator Takashi Yanase having passed away last October at the age of 94. The 25th theatrical Anpanman movie, Soreike! Anpanman: Ringo Boya to Minna no Negai (Let’s Go! Anpanman: The Apple Boy and Everyone’s Wishes), will open theatrically on July 5. Furthermore, the Soreike! Anpanman anime television series that’s been ongoing since 1988 will continue indefinitely.
