According to the Internet Movie Database, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon eclipsed the record for highest grossing foreign film in America previously held by Life is Beautiful. CTHD has now earned $60 million in US box office. The previous record holder had set the high water mark at $57.6 million.

French martial arts magazine Karate Bushido has revealed some potentially very exciting news about the currently in production Luc Besson/Corey Yuen co-production Kiss of the Dragon, which stars Jet Li. The film may include a sequence pitting Li against 3 female fighters at once. Some of the film’s confirmed scenes feature Li fighting against champion martial artists Pascal Gentil, Mickael Million and Hoang Nghi. The climactic battle will be set inside a police station where Li will take on 20 policemen, in groups of 4-5 opponents at a time.

The new Japanese action film “Versus” is causing quite a stir in the foreign and underground film circle. The film is touted as the next cult hit in the school of the classic John Woo Chinese language action films, and for the same reason has been blasted as being too derivative and unoriginal.
