I was just wondering what happened to the series Demon Prince Zenki. Were there more than just the 12 episodes released by Software Sculptors? Did the series get cancelled or was it just a poor seller here?

Answer:
Zenki actually lasted for 51 TV episodes and 1 thirty-minute OAV in Japan. This was one of the original titles licensed by Software Sculptors when the company first introduced itself to the American market. At that time, as a small company, Software Sculptors wisely limited itself to shorter shows like This is Greenwood, Metal Fighter Miku and the first half of the first Slayers TV series . I can’t say for certain, but my best guess would be that, due to poor sales for Zenki and the sudden increasing popularity of Slayers, Software Sculptors decided to focus its attention on licensing the second half of the first season of Slayers rather than continuing the Zenki series.
