“Ask John” Correction
|Several readers have mailed in corrections to Wednesday’s “Ask John” article titled “What Does the Pentagram Mean in Japan?” The article erroneously refers to the pentagram as a Satanic symbol. The pentagram, five-sided star, is actually a symbol held to represent harmony and balance. It is the inverted pentagram inside a circle, a pentacle, which is commonly considered a symbol of evil. At the present time, a bug in the AnimeNation news page prevents us from being able to alter or edit published “Ask John” articles without the entire “Ask John” archive page crashing and usually randomly deleting entries. As soon as this kink is worked out, corrections and alterations to this particular, and numerous other “Ask John” articles will be made. I apologize for any confusion I may have inadvertently caused.
