Ask John: How Much Crest of the Stars is There?

Question:
Just wondering if you could give me a little info on the Crest of the Stars series. What I need to know is the order that I should watch the series in and how many episodes are in each. There is Seikai no Monshou, Seikai no Senki, and some specials (I think).

Answer:
Seikai no Monsho was the first 13 episode TV series that’s available in America. Then comes the 13 episode Seikai no Senki and the 10 episode Seikai no Senki II TV series. There are also a 30 minute long Seikai no Monsho sequel OAV titled “Seikai no Dansho: Birth”; a condensed “Special Edition” of Seikai no Monsho which presents the entire 13 episode first series story with some new footage, in a 90 minute digest version; and a condensed “Special Edition” version of Seikai no Senki featuring some extensive new animation that presents the entire second TV series in a single 120 minute “movie.”

At the present time, neither Bandai nor any other American licensor has discussed whether or not any more of the “Seikai no” animation will be coming to the US.
