Ask John: How To Contact TV Representatives?

Question:
How can anime fans make recommendations to companies (ex: WB/Cartoon Network/FOX) to air a certain series, one that may be better suited for US TV and require less editing. Should people just e-mail the companies?

Answer:
The best way to get anime broadcast on American television is to let broadcasters know you want to see. If there’s a market for something, you can be certain that there’s an industry to respond to that demand. E-mail is a powerful communication tool, but e-mail still doesn’t have the same weight or power that print letters do. It takes only a moment to type out and send an electronic message, and e-mail is no more substantial than words on an electronic screen. Typed or hand written letters take some time and effort to draft, and have an actual physical matter to them, so if you’re serious about expressing your opinions, and you feel strongly about a certain subject or show, put it on paper.
