Kinji Yoshimoto’s adult ninja action OAV series “Inju Gakuen La Blue Girl” originally premiered in Japan in 1992 with a 4 episode OAV series. This original series was quickly followed up by the 1993 release of the 3 episode “Shin Inju Gakuen La Blue Girl” OAV series that concluded in March 1994. This second series was released in the US as part of the first series, on CPM La Blue Girl tapes 5 & 6, and later DVD volume 3. The La Blue Girl story continued with the July 1996 debut of “Inju Gakuen La Blue Girl EX,” a four epsiode long third OAV series. Hoping to avoid implications of child pornography, Central Park Media removed the word “Girl” from the Japanese title and released La Blue Girl EX in America under the title “Lady Blue.” The La Blue Girl EX series ended in Japan in November 1996 and remainded dormant until the May 25, 2001 premier of the the fourth La Blue Girl OAV series, the four episode long “Inju Gakuen La Blue Girl Fukkatsu Hen” OAV series, released in America under the name “La Blue Girl Returns.”
