If they’re afraid that Sailor Stars is too intense for younger kids, can’t they put it on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim?

Putting Sailormoon on Adult Swim is exactly the sort of publicity/notoriety that Toei Animation wants to avoid. Toei does not want Sailormoon associated with anything “adult” in America. As long as the franchise stays child friendly, parents won’t be afraid to continue buying Sailormoon videos and merchandise. If Sailormoon is broadcast late at night on an “adult” program, parents may be concerned over adult content in Sailormoon and deem it inappropriate for children. If that happens, sales of Sailormoon merchandise and videos in America may decline.
