Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman Anime Announced

An official website has launched to announce the January 7 premiere of the Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman anime television series. The anime about a feudal era thief who steals back items that have been unfairly taken from people is based on the CR Ginroku Gijinden Roman pachinko game that features character designs by Lupin III creator Monkey Punch. While the original pachinko game is set in the Genroku era (1688-1704), the anime will be set in the Bakumatsu era (1853-1867).

Hirofumi Ogura (Kuroshitsuji II, Area no Kishi) will direct at studio TMS. Hanasaku Iroha & Phi-brain screenwriter Tatsuto Higuchi will write the series.
