Cameron’s Dark Angel

It has been asked several times if the upcoming Fox series Dark Angel is James Cameron’s rumored Battle Angel Alita project. The New York Post has recently talked to Cameron about Dark Angel, and it is clear that if the series is Alita, it has been changed far beyond recognition. The near future science fiction series stars Jessica Alba as Max, a genetically engineered super soldier type who escaped into the underworld of San Francisco. Though Max is superheroic in her way, Cameron emphasizes, “We want the audience to get the sense that Max does have vulnerabilities. We want to show that she’s smarter, faster and can see in the dark but it’s important to convey that a cat can still get hit by a car – even though it can run faster than you or I can. Max can get the flu, have a cold and have a bad day.”
