Cartoon Network News
|During the Cartoon Network panel at the San Diego Comic Con it was revealed that Cowboy Bebop will be broadcast on the Network this fall as part of the late-night “Adult Swim” programming period on Sunday nights. Pioneer representative Chad Kime stated in May that the Cartoon Network had no plans to broadcast Trigun due to its “excessive use of guns.” If that is still the case, we can probably expect extensive editing and censoring for the Cartoon Network version of Cowboy Bebop. The Cartoon Network representative at the panel discussion “was unsure as to how much editing would be needed and admitted that it was ‘something of a stretch for them.'”
The August 31st Toonami Midnight Run will be a special night focusing on premiering animated music videos including the premier of the latest Leiji Matsumoto directed music video from Daft Punk. All of the music videos from Daft Punk’s latest album feature original animation supervised by Leiji Matsumoto, and reveal a continuing story from video to video. The video premiered on Toonami will be the fourth Daft Punk anime video released, following videos for the songs “One More Time,” “Aerodynamic” and “Digital Love.”
