The Internet Movie Database has been reporting on Al Pacino’s next movie Simone, which will feature Pacino opposite a computer generated actress. The news on this movie is that the Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG) is reacting coolly to the prospect of a computer generated actress. While the New York Daily News quoted one unnamed insider as saying, “They better have lists of hundreds of girls he looked at, unless they want SAG to come down on him,” a spokesman for SAG appeared unperturbed. “She won’t develop a following,” the spokesman, Greg Krizman, predicted. “We have plenty of actors and actresses out there who wonder about computer-generated directors.”

MSNBC has posted an article on the upcoming Final Fantasy movie, which promises to be the test case for CGI-actors. According the article “‘Final Fantasy’ promises to be visually stunning, blending the furious cyberpunk energy of ‘Akira’ with the classic studio style of James Cameron’s ‘Aliens.'”
