Crayon Shin-chan Anime to Continue
|In a press conference yesterday, TV Asahi president Hiroshi Hayakawa announced that the Crayon Shin-chan anime franchise will continue despite the untimely demise of its creator, Yoshito Usui. Mr. Usui passed away on September 11th as a result of an apparent accidental fall during a mountain hiking trip. Hayakawa confirmed that the TV Asahi network that broadcasts the weekly Crayon Shin-chan anime series, has discussed the possibility of continuing the production with animation studio Shinei Douga and Usui’s surviving family.
The tremendously popular Crayon Shin-chan anime franchise premiered in 1992 and has 680 episodes and 17 theatrical features, so far.
